Plain-English answers on billing, cancellations, and refunds — read this before you subscribe.
This Refund Policy explains how billing, cancellations, and refunds work for your SkiptheAgent subscription. It forms part of our Terms of Service, which also cover payments generally — if the two ever conflict on a subscription-billing question, this page is the more detailed and current word on it.
Your SkiptheAgent subscription is billed monthly, with no lock-in contract. Cancel any time from Account Settings and you simply won't be billed again.
We don't give partial refunds for the days left in a month you've already paid for — that's standard for month-to-month software.
If we make a billing mistake — charging you after you'd cancelled, or charging you twice — we refund it in full.
Your 30-day free trial charges you nothing at all, so there's nothing to refund during the trial itself.
Referral credits are issued after a referred landlord's second subscription payment, not their first — and a credit is reversed if that payment is later refunded or charged back.
Every new SkiptheAgent account starts with a 30-day free trial. No credit card is required to start it, and no payment is taken during those 30 days — not a temporary hold, not a $1 verification charge, nothing.
Because there's no charge during the trial, there's no refund to issue for trial usage. If SkiptheAgent isn't right for you, just don't subscribe when the trial ends (or cancel beforehand) and you will never be billed a cent.
This is the most common point of confusion we hear, so to be direct about it: there is no such thing as a refund during the free trial, because there is no charge to refund. The rest of this policy only applies once a paid subscription actually starts billing you.
SkiptheAgent is billed monthly per property. There's no annual plan and no minimum term — you're never locked into a contract.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from Account Settings inside the app. Cancelling stops all future billing — you won't be charged again once your current billing period ends. You'll keep full access to the account you've already paid for until that period runs out, so you don't lose anything you've paid for by cancelling early.
When you cancel, we don't refund any part of the current month you've already paid for — even if you cancel on day one of a new billing period. This is standard practice for month-to-month SaaS subscriptions: the monthly fee covers the whole billing period, not a per-day rate that unwinds when you leave early.
In practice: cancel whenever you like, and you simply won't be billed again going forward — but the month you're currently in has already been paid for and isn't refunded. We'd rather be upfront about that now than have it come as a surprise later.
A genuine billing mistake is different from simply changing your mind, and we'll always make mistakes right. Examples of billing errors we will refund in full:
If something looks wrong on your statement, email support@skiptheagent.au within 14 days of the charge, with the date and amount in question. We investigate every report and refund confirmed errors in full to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
Reports made after the 14-day window will still be looked at, but we can't guarantee a refund the further out we get from the original charge — so the sooner you flag it, the better.
Separately from your SkiptheAgent subscription, some landlords and tenants use SkiptheAgent's built-in rent collection feature, which moves rent directly between a tenant's and a landlord's own bank accounts via Stripe Connect and BECS Direct Debit.
That money is never SkiptheAgent's — we simply provide the platform that connects the two parties' bank accounts. If a rent payment is disputed, needs to be reversed, or was made in error, that's a matter between the tenant and landlord (or their bank, for a Direct Debit dispute or chargeback) — it is not a refund SkiptheAgent can issue, because we never held that money to begin with.
If you have an issue with a rent payment, please contact your tenant or landlord directly, or your bank if you believe a Direct Debit was processed without proper authorisation. This Refund Policy covers SkiptheAgent's own subscription fee only.
Landlords can refer another landlord using a personal referral code. When that referred landlord ("the referee") subscribes using the code, both the referee and the person who referred them ("the referrer") can each receive a one-month account credit — equal to one month of their own subscription cost — applied directly to their Stripe billing balance. This is a bill credit, not a cash refund, and doesn't affect any refund you'd otherwise be owed under Section 5.
The credit is issued after the referee's second subscription payment, not the first. This is deliberate: it means simply signing up and cancelling straight after the first payment does not generate a credit for either side. If you're a referee, factor this timing in — your own free month (and your referrer's) lands roughly two billing cycles after your trial ends, not one.
Each SkiptheAgent account can receive at most one referral credit in its lifetime, regardless of how many times it refers others or is referred.
If the qualifying (second) payment is later refunded or successfully disputed as a chargeback — including under the billing-error refunds described in Section 5 — any referral credit that payment triggered is automatically reversed: we charge back the credited amount to whichever account(s) received it. This prevents a credit from surviving on the books after the payment that earned it has been undone.
Referral credits are not transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and can be withdrawn or adjusted if we determine an account used the programme fraudulently — for example, redeeming codes across multiple accounts funded by the same payment method to collect more than one credit.

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our pricing, billing systems, or legal obligations.
